For those who would like to engage in the history of the Sligo Armada links, this full morning programme is the ideal event for you. Encapsulating three separate elements rolled into one morning, you will get a real deep dive into the Armada history.
Incorporating lectures on the history of the Spanish Armada and the Gaelic Chieftain, Red Hugh O’Donnell at our visitor centre, plus Tercio Irlanda; Living History Group will also present a 16th Century Native Irish Encampment with Weaponry, Clothing Exhibition and displays.
Finally each group will be brought on a bus tour of the local Armada historical sites.
